Pick Up Procedures

General Dismissal Information

Dismissal begins at 3:45 p.m.
Parents and visitors will not be permitted to enter the building during dismissal.
Please follow all staff directions and traffic patterns.
For the safety of all students, please arrive no earlier than 3:30 p.m.
Students not picked up by the conclusion of dismissal will be escorted to the main office and families will be contacted.

Dismissal Changes

If you need to change your child’s dismissal plan, please contact the main office at 216-838-8350, no later than 2:20 p.m. or you may send a note with your child to give to the office. You may leave a message if someone does not answer the telephone. For security reasons, we cannot accept changes directly through the classroom teacher. Additionally, older siblings are not authorized to inform staff of changes to dismissal plans; we must speak directly with an adult.

PreK and Kindergarten

Car Riders and Walkers

Students will be dismissed directly from their classrooms.
Families will pick up students at the Kindergarten/PreK doors near the playground.
You may park at the parking lot located off of Rowley Avenue or on the street where parking is permitted.
An approved adult must be listed as a pick-up contact.
Students will be signed out using the school's QR code process.

Grades 1–3

Car Riders and Daycare Transportation

Students will wait in the gym until their name is called.
Dismissal will take place through the front gym doors on Buhrer Avenue.
Families should approach from Holmden Avenue and travel west on Buhrer Avenue.
Please do not park on Buhrer Avenue or Holmden Avenue before 3:30 p.m.
Students will be loaded into vehicles from designated locations under staff supervision.

Walkers

Walkers will be released by administration through the gym doors.
Families should not park and walk up to retrieve students.
Walk-up students will be dismissed after the car rider line has been cleared.

Students with Siblings

To help families stay together, students with siblings in grades 1–3 may be grouped together during dismissal and released as a family unit through the front gym doors on Buhrer Avenue.

Grades 4–8

Car Riders and Walkers

Students will be dismissed through the Rowley Avenue exit doors.
Families should enter Rowley Avenue from West 16th Street off Clark Avenue.
When turning onto Rowley Avenue, remain in the left lane and follow staff directions.
Please do not park on Rowley Avenue or West 16th Street before 3:30 p.m.
Do not block driveways or neighborhood traffic.
Students will enter vehicles from the passenger side whenever possible.

Bus Riders

Students will report to designated waiting areas and be escorted to the gym once buses arrive.
Students will be called by bus color and escorted to buses by staff.
Do not pull your child off the bus; Contact the office or administration and we will assist you.

Safety Expectations for Families

To help keep all students safe:

✅ Follow all traffic patterns and staff directions.

✅ Pull all the way forward before stopping to load your child.

✅ Remain in your vehicle during dismissal.

✅ Use only designated pick-up areas.

✅ Ensure your child enters the vehicle from the passenger side whenever possible.

✅ Be patient and courteous to school staff, families, and neighbors.

Please Do Not:

❌ Park and walk up to pick up students during dismissal.

❌ Block driveways, intersections, or school entrances.

❌ Arrive before 3:15 p.m.

❌ Enter the building during dismissal.

❌ Enter the bus loop or parking lots.

Late Pick-Up Procedure

If a student has not been picked up by approximately 4:04 p.m.:

The student will be escorted to the main office.
Office staff will contact the parent or guardian.
Students will remain supervised until picked up by an approved adult.
